My experience of counselling often feels like midwifery as I facilitate the birth of images, ideas, emotions and new skills with you. As we explore together your wounds, traumatic experiences, vulnerabilities and concerns, we also initiate access to your true self, which is imbued with a resiliency that is your inherited birthright. I believe in your inherent ability to access your own wisdom and call forth your innate abilities to heal.
Each of you are wonderfully unique and therefore my therapeutic approach is tailored specifically to your needs and desires. My focus is on an integrated approach, which at the outset offers a safe, confidential environment and sincere dedicated presence in the exploration of your body, mind, emotions and spirit.
I work with individuals, couples, families, children and groups.
My areas of expertise include, but are not limited to:
- Relationships and Co-dependency
- Family Issues
- Life Transitions
- Depression and Anxiety
- Grief and Loss
- Eating Disorders
- Sexual Abuse and Trauma
- Jump-starting Creativity
Professionally I employ a broad-based and integrative approach to counselling. Some of the treatment modalities and philosophies I use are Expressive Arts Therapy, Guided Imagery, Psychodynamics, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Approach (Bowenian), Jungian, Humanistic, Gestalt, Transtheoretical and Psychoanalytical.
At the heart of my work lies the deep belief that the therapeutic relationship is crucial to the process of transforming limiting patterns, traumas and belief systems in the relief of suffering and fostering peace of mind and health on every level.
